Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's parents also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. She is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. In the year Ryder was seven, her family moved from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. At the time, there were no electric lights. Ryder was a consummate reader and spent her time studying books since she had no television. Ryder was enrolled in acting classes when Ryder was twelve years old, at the American Conservatory Theatre. Lucas was released in 1986, and Ryder who was barely 15 years old, landed a role as a leading actress. Ryder faced bullying during her high school years. She hoped acting could bring change. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Still, she kept chasing her goals. In 1988, it was in the year Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder continued to be successful in her parts in a variety of films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her performance on The Age of Innocence (1993).
