Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Her modelling career began in Italy, where she was raised before being was born in California. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actor in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. After a difficult fight to get a part, she was offered a role as 'Starship Troopers' in starring in Starship Troopers. The transition was difficult for Amy since she needed transition from modelling to the acting profession. Models aren't regarded as the best actors and so tend to be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy didn't give up, and she eventually landed larger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. Then she stepped into leading roles with the 2005s romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized by the industry for her performance in the last 10 years. She then went on to work in many of the greatest film productions, such as the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
